2021/22 Library Report Q4: Home

Total Library Usage = 4 classes/day

quarter 4 library usage

  • In 4th Quarter, the library saw 159 classes (4/day) for instruction, research, book checkouts, or space-only usage in Q4. Instruction by the librarians accounted for approximately 23% of the usage (1 classes/day). The percentage of instruction decreased from the previous quarter. Reasons for this change include the pause of Advisory classes and Den Days. While the librarians did not engage in instruction during return periods, they provided supervision of the academy students.  Another reason for the decrease might be a school-wide shift to preparing students for assessment in Q4, leaving less room for longer, inquiry-driven projects.
  • Note, this chart does not include the drop-in students who come before school, after school, or during lunch.

Drop-In and Lunch Usage

  • 215 visits daily, on average, occurred. These visits are made by students who request passes from teachers to use the library during class, students who use the library before and after school and during lunch, and academy students during travel periods.
  • On average, 182 students use the library during lunch daily. That means 46 students are in the library during any given lunch period.

Book Circulation

  • 1,206 books were circulated. That is 28 books/day.
  • Classes visited the library for book checkout 17 times.
  • The horror manga Chainsaw Man was one of the the most circulated series.
